Karma Se7en body jewellery

karma 7 jewellery

I was recently contacted by body jewellery company, Karma Se7en, who asked if I’d like to review a couple of their products. I was thrilled as I’ve been in the market for a new piece for my tragus piercing. I’m quite sensitive to metals so it is difficult to find something that is non-allergenic but also pretty, but Karma Se7en’s collection had plenty of choice which is really refreshing.Continue Reading . . .

Pineapple wishlist

pineapple wishlist

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

In all seriousness, who doesn’t like pineapples?! They are just so tropical and summery, I love them. Not only do they taste amazing, but they just look so cute and they remind me of being on holiday in the Caribbean! This year I think there has been an abundance of pineapple prints and homeware so I have decided to collate some of my faves in a pineapple themed wishlist for you all to enjoy too.

I’m loving the cushion, but unfortunately it wouldn’t go with our living room’s colour scheme, wahh. Just need to have a tropical themed bedroom now…..

The gold pineapple necklace from River Island is too cute and the perfect way to tropical up any outfit, so ideal for holidays.

Pineapple cocktail sticks, you need these in your life for homemade pina coladas or Singapore slings. Just think how fancy you will look with a pineapple chunk skewered on it. Cocktail umbrella optional.

The Boohoo playsuit is so perfect for summer. It is casual enough you could wear it on the beach over a bikini, but could be dressed up with wedges and a statement necklace. It looks so comfortable too! The pineapple print is quite understated for those who don’t want to go full on in your face tropical.

So apparently you can get pineapple spoons! I know I’m going a bit far now, but if they are out there then there must be a demand! They would be great for serving with a pineapple dessert at a dinner party. You’d be the hostess with the mostess for sure.

The LUSH shampoo sounds lie heaven in a bottle to me. Packed full of tropical fruits it works to clarify your hair and leaves it smelling like a fruit cocktail, om nom nom!

Would you buy any of these items?

Six things I need for summer…

Summer wishlist
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6
The sun is shining, the weatherman has predicted a heatwave so summer is officially here! With a new season comes a new wishlist, and these are the items I need for summer 2015. I’ve (hopefully) got a summer holiday in the pipeline, plus a week in Vegas in October, so I need to start collecting my summer wardrobe so I look the part.
I love the daisy print and I am always a fan of darker florals because they make great transitional pieces. I know I will probably look like an overgrown toddler in this getup, but I love it! It has the perfect festival vibe and would look great layered over a white tee and converse.
Jones Bootmaker have lots of lovely sandals right now including these rose gold wedges. This is pretty much a dream come true! Everyone in the world has been crazy over all things rose gold for the last few years and I need these shoes in my life. The different textures on the wedge and the heel make the sandals more versatile whether you are going for a casual or dressy look.
The polka dot print on these beauties is simply the cutest thing! I usually prefer to go with a black/brown pair of sunnies so they go with everything. This pair would work so well with the dungarees. I’m also loving the ombre tint on the lenses, they look so effortlessly cool.
4. Secret Garden Floral Crown from Dolly Bow Bow, £15
Everyone needs a floral crown in their life for summer and this one is just up my street because the blue flowers are a little bit different from the typically pink based crowns. I might also feel a little bit like Frozen’s Elsa wearing it….
5. Pink Mini Frame Flap Handbag from River Island, £35
You’ve got to have a bit or arm candy suitable for the summer and this candy pink bag is just calling out to me. I tend to go for bags that have the option to be carried on the crook or your arm, but also have a strap for days when you want to be hands free so this is perfect for my summer needs.
I already own four kimonos….but this one is really cute! At only £18 I think it is very reasonable for how lovely the tropical print is. Kimonos are a great way to cover up a little without wearing anything too thick or heavy like a cardigan or jacket. I like that it is quite short too as my other kimonos are longer. Does that justify buying it?!

What is on your summer wishlist?

Dipping my toes into the world of body jewellery

I got my tragus pierced to celebrate the end of exams in my first year at university, and since then I have kept the same jewellery in. So when I got the chance to pick out a couple of pieces from Body Jewellery Shop I was very excited to finally try something new.

The first piece that I selected was a very different style to what I have been wearing for the last few years. I decided that I wanted to go for a BCR so I took a look at the list of ear piercings available from Body Jewellery shop and found this lovely Outwards Stars surgical steel BCR*  which I think is prettier and more feminine than a plainer ring. The star detail is much cuter than the plain labret style stud I was wearing before and makes my ear piercing stand out more as mine is very discrete.

It’s made from surgical steel which is great news for anyone with metal allergies, However, I am very sensitive to metals and the only thing I can comfortably wear long term is titanium or gold. I was able to wear the BCR for three days across the Easter weekend before any irritation started so I will still continue to wear it during weekends. I doubt that the material would be a problem for many people though, so don’t let this put you off.

The second earring I selected was a better fitting labret stud for days when i was to keep my piercing a little more discrete. I wanted something that I could wear long term, so the titanium micro labret stud* was the perfect choice for me. I went for the 1.2mm x 6mm version which is a perfect fit. The length is short enough that I don’t have to re-position my jewellery every time I put my earphones in, but still leaves a couple of millimeters for ease of insertion and removal.

I really love the wide selection of ear piercing jewellery on offer and I would definitely treat myself to a few more from Body Jewellery Shop.

What piercings do you have? Where do you buy your body jewelley from?

What I’d wear to Cheltenham Races Ladies Day

The Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse is this week, and Ladies Day is always the most exciting part for me because of the fashion. This year they are holding a fantastic competition #colourmemarch to bring a rainbow of colours to the races. All you need to do is go to The Festival website and share a bright outfit you would wear to Ladies Day and you could win some amazing prizes – including £2000 worth of diamonds!

So as I am feeling lucky, I have decided to put my outfit of choice forward. I am a huge fan of colour and most of my outfits contain a pop of colour, whether it is just the handbag, or the whole outfit. But seeing as #colourmemarch is all about being bright and bold, I have gone for a splash of orange with complementary sky blue.

The dress is from Miss Selfridge and is such a beautiful shade of orange I think it would look amazing on holiday with a tan. I really like the sweetheart neckline and the cutout details. I have chosen to pair it with some pretty New Look heels. The chunky heels will stop you from sinking into the grass and the platform will make them a bit comfier as it is always a long day of standing at the races,

As for accessories, a pop of bright blue nail varnish would tie the look together and keep everything super bright and a matching fascinator is a must. The necklace needs to be simple because the rest of the outfit is very bold, so a simple gold chain will work well with the orange tones and also sit nicely with the sweetheart neckline.

If you want to be in with a chance to win some amazing prizes, be sure to submit a photo of the outfit you would wear to Ladies day on The Festival website or tweet it including #colourmemarch

Good luck!

What to get your mum for Mother’s Day

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Mother’s Day is just around the corner now, so if you have left it to the last minute to buy your mum a special something, then here are a few ideas to get you going!

1. Pink Grapefruit Large Yankee Candle Jar from Yankee Candle, £19.99

I treated myself to a medium sized jar of this flavour candle in January, and I have to say it is absolutely delicious smelling! I really love the fruity scents and I think that they are a good choice for mums as it isn’t too sickly and sweet. My mum hates floral scented things, especially lavender, so a fruity smelling candle would be right up her street. With so many different flavours on offer, it would be easy to find one that is suited to your mum’s taste too.

2. Blackberry Cake Stand from Marks and Spencer, £29.50

The Great British Bake Off has been back recently with special celebrity episodes for Comic Relief and every time the show is on our screens it seems that everyone is inspired to get baking. This cake stand is really pretty and if your mum doesn’t yet own one, perhaps now is the perfect time! You could treat her even more this Mother’s Day by getting your bake on and making an array of cute cupcakes to display on it.

3. Carrie Statement Pearl Earrings from Accessorize, £17

Mums love a bit of jewellery, and the best part is these Accessorize beauties wont break the bank. I love the pearl accents as they look really classy for statement earrings. These would be perfect for your mum to pair with pastels this spring, but would also look great with an LBD.

4. Dark Willow Picnic Hamper from John Lewis, £85

This picnic basket is absolutely divine! I honestly think this is a fantastic gift to buy for your mum if she doesn’t have one already. The Dark Willow Picnic Hamper caters for four people which is ideal for a little family jaunt to a park or the beach (obvs when the weather is better!) Plus there is even room for wine and you get a corkscrew included too – perfect!

5. Shea Butter Hand Cream from L’Occitane, £19

All woman love hand cream and in my opinion, L’Occitane make some cracking ones.Shea butter is one of my favourite body care ingredients as it treats all sorts of skin issues including dry, cracked and sore skin – so it is the perfect treat for mum’s hands.

6. Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum from Feel Unique, £35.10

If in doubt, perfume is always a good choice. I love this Jimmy Choo scent, and it is also one of my mum’s top picks. It smells amazing with a fruity and feminine base and woody depths, it is utterly lovely and I highly recommend it.

I hope this gives you a little bit of inspiration for your Mother’s Day shopping. I’ve got my present, just need to sort the card out now!

What gift would your mum prefer? What gift ideas do you have for mums?

October Must Haves – Halloween special

Halloween party wishlist

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

It’s time for my monthly Must Haves post  and as Halloween is just around the corner now and most of us will be throwing/attending parties or heading out in spooky fancy dress. So this month, I thought that I would put together a few items that I think are amazing additions to your Halloween outfit. Hope you enjoy!

I adore this dress! It absolutely screams sexy vampire to me, but you could use wear it as a naughty devil or glam witch outfit too. This is the kind of dress that you can carry on wearing after Halloween has long gone – I’m thinking Christmas party season or even Valentine’s day!

If ever there was a time for nail art, Halloween is it. But we are busy girls and not all of us have time time to literally watch paint dry. So for girls on the go, I really recommend stick on nails so all the hard work is done for you. They are easy to put on and you can literally do it 5 or 10 minutes before you head out the door. I love the design of these House of Holland nails and think they are a great addition to any fancy dress outfit.

Violent Lips The Leopard from Selfridges, £10

Halloween is the time to go absolutely wild with your makeup and what could be wilder than this fierce lip transfer?! If you don’t want to spend a fortune on fancy dress, then the lip transfers and some eyeliner whiskers can create an outfit in an instant.

A black lipstick is pretty much a Halloween essential, but there is no need to spend a fortune when every blogger’s favourite budget brand are offering up a suitable shade for just £1 – you really can’t go wrong.

Halloween Lips Clutch from ASOS, £20

I love this Lulu Guinness inspired clutch bag so much and for just £20 I think it is an absolute steal. This is the perfect accessory for vampire costumes.

If you don’t want to go all out, but want to add a touch of Halloween to your outfit, these River Island leggings are perfect. The spider web print actually glows in the dark which is pretty cool! Just a touch of spooky without going all in.

What will you be wearing for Halloween? Which of these would you most like to get your hands on!

August Must Haves

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6
So with August coming to a close it is time for my August Must Haves. It has been so difficult to narrow my wishlist down to just six items, but I am definitely going to purchase all of these in the next few weeks to see me through the autumn season. So here we go…

With the weather starting to turn cooler it is time to invest in a new moisturiser. I have heard great things about the Enzymion moisturiser from LUSH, so now is the perfect opportunity to try out this moisturiser that is suitable for oily skin like mine.
I LOVE this blanket cardigan from New Look, firstly because it is burgandy, my favourite autumn colour and it also looks so cosy to wear. I’d wear this belted with a plain top and jeans or leggings for a casual autumn look.
My hair is looking a little bit worse for wear at the moment. It is in need of a good cut and some TLC. This hair masque by Charles Worthington has had some very good reviews so I am looking forward to seeing if it can nourish my dry and knotty ends.
I am looking for a new bag to use for work after the strap on my Michael Kors bag broke and I love this smart backpack. The colours are perfect for autumn, anything oxblood is a sure win in my books.
I have got my six MAC empties at the ready and I can’t wait to visit my local MAC counter to trade them in for this gorgeous shade. I love a berry lip in the autumn so this is one lippy I have been dying to get my hands on.
These ankle boots are just beautiful and I am hoping to get them for myself as a little birthday treat. I think that I will pretty much live in these boots through autumn and winter as they will go with everything.
What is on your wishlist right now? What do you think of my August Must Haves?
