July has completely flown by and I can’t believe it is August already?! I’ve had a pretty busy month, and if you are a regular reader or you follow me on Instagram, you will know I have been trying to balance blogging with, day trips, BBQs, nights out, concerts and busy days at work – no wonder this month has whizzed by! Anyway, today I’m sharing with you my July Must Haves.Continue Reading . . .
I love a beauty bargain, but sometimes cheaper products are just too good to be true. There is nothing worse that the disappointment of your drugstore product not living up to its promises. So in the name of science (errrr not really but we can pretend…) I am putting two similar products to the test to find out if high end or high street comes out on top.Continue Reading . . .
So with August over I want to share with you my empties from this month and tell you a bit about them, whether I liked each product and if I would repurchase. I like reading these posts because it is great to get a final verdict on a product rather than an opinion after a swatch or couple of days trial. So without further ado, here are my August empties!
First up is the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir Eau de Parfum. I purchased this little gem in the Boots sale after Christmas, so I think I got the set half price, which was an absolute steal! I love the berry scent of this fragrance and I think it is a great every day kind of perfume that I wear to work and when I’m just out and about. I would definitely repurchase this either on sale or for the full retail price because I think the scent is gorgeous. I also love the packaging, the bottle is so girly and looks lovely displayed on a dressing table, so I will be sad to get rid of it now it is empty!
Next up is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo cream. If you saw my previous blog post where I reviewed three wonderful products from the La Roche-Posay Effaclar range, you will know that I absolutely adore this product. It has done wonders for my skin and I think this will forever hold a place on my dressing table. I have already repurchased another tube so I can confirm this is a true favourite!
I have sadly hit the pan on a great little concealer from Seventeen, Phwoarr Paint. I use this concealer to hide dark circles under my eyes and for the price, I think it is pretty good. It is not as good as higher end concealers I have used, but I think it is a good dupe for Benefit’s Boi-ing Concealer. I have actually repurchased this concealer already as I think it is a fab budget beauty product.
I found this small sample pot of the Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream hiding in the back of my bathroom cabinet a few weeks ago, I must have got it from a Nivea Set at some point, but I forgot just how much I love this moisturiser. It is a great multi-purpose product that can be used on the face, body and hands so would be the idea product to take on holiday or to a festival. The cream smells absolutely amazing and leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated. I am definitely going to pick up a full sized version next time I’m in town.
Lastly, I finished up MAC Fluidline in the shade Blacktrack this morning. This is my go to eye liner and I use it everyday. It is highly pigmented and I find it stays on all day due to the gel formula. As long as you use a good brush, the gel applies really smoothly and evenly on the lid. While this product lasts for ages, I do find that it starts to dry up a little bit over time, which is a shame. I’m not sure if gel liners from other higher end brands do the same, but I’d be interested in giving them a try. I have already repurchased this liner because I wear it every day and I hate risking that I might run out of an every day essential!
